Vitamix 5200 Blender
Vitamix 5200 Review: Is the Hype Justified?
We ran smoothies, hot soup, and nut butter for a year. Performance and durability verdict.
The Vitamix 5200 is the workhorse that made Vitamix famous. We’ve used it for smoothies, hot soup, nut butter, and even small-batch milling for over a year.
What we liked
Blends everything we’ve put in it—ice, frozen fruit, nuts, hot liquids. The motor doesn’t bog down. Container is easy to clean (blend soap and water). Build quality is top-notch; it feels like it’ll last decades. Can make hot soup by blending long enough—no separate heating needed.
What we didn’t
It’s expensive and loud. The tall container can be awkward for small batches. You’re paying for performance and durability—if you only blend occasionally, a cheaper blender may be enough.
Verdict
Worth it for serious blenders and long-term use. We earn a commission from qualifying purchases.
