The KitchenAid 5-Speed Hand Mixer is a workhorse for batters, meringue, and light dough. We used it for cakes, cookies, and whipped cream over two months.
What we liked
Strong motor—handles thick batter and egg whites without straining. Five speeds give good control. Beaters lock in and release easily; they're dishwasher-safe. Comfortable to hold. Optional attachments (dough hooks, etc.) available. Reliable brand.
What we didn't
Not for heavy bread dough—that's for a stand mixer. Can be a bit loud on high. Cord could be longer for some counter setups.
Verdict
